Personal Digest Saturday: October 19 – October 25

Life news this week:

• Saturday was two huge events for me! One was getting to meet my first Pitch Wars mentee, Ben, in person, and he brought along his very nice wife Emma whom I'd never conversed with. We had a few hours to chill and talk and it was great. Then they had to be on their way to catch a flight. Then I threw a party! I had been weirdly efficient with my preparation the night before so there was almost nothing to do. I had a checklist, though, and started getting ready a few hours before the party. It took more than an hour to do my makeup for my costume because I had to paint myself purple. I had a good crowd for the party and they ate my food, talked, and enjoyed good company. Four people slept over (three were planned) and several stayed past 3 AM. And I was delighted to have my friend Steve meet my friends as he was able to attend after he got off work.
  
• Sunday I saw my friends off and then spent the day recovering. I didn't do much (though I did do some laundry and cleanup); mostly just ate delicious leftovers and relaxed. I did some karaoke and did the dishes. Was nice to have some down time.
  
• Monday I did some data entry for our project and worked on a letter. I also got to see my friend Steve for lunch and that was really nice! We had Thai food. Also, we found out we won a project! Great news! After work I did some ace stuff for Asexual Awareness Week and drew for Inktober. And I tried to help one of my friends with a website.
  
• Tuesday I helped with file transfers and did a transcript for my boss, then edited a letter for the office. My photos of my Halloween costume got a feature on Amino so that was nice! I talked to Jeaux on the phone after work and did some drawings for Inktober. Stayed up late to review the latest SU comic.
  
• Wednesday I plotted some intersection boards, did some file stuff, and made business cards for people. After work I took a quick nap and then Jeaux came over. We ate at Denny's and shopped at Winn-Dixie. Came home and watched Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Jeaux ate the last of my pumpkin pie. I drew a picture for someone I'm trading with on the Internet and went to bed.
  
• Thursday I sent a package in the morning and went to work. Did some updates and some preparation for an upcoming letter. We hired a new guy! After work we all went to the Supersession which was a thing for transportation professionals. Did some networking and got to have a delicious dinner and a great presentation on road safety for vulnerable road users. Went home and finished up my webcomic.
  
• Friday I did some updates, reports, and timesheets. After work I posted my webcomic and did a livestream for Asexual Awareness Week. People could ask questions or chat in the box while I made a video and discussed how media handles asexuality awareness.

Personal Digest Saturday: October 12 – October 18

Life news this week:

• Saturday was pretty good! I spent the day drawing, cleaning up my Steven Universe display with my mother, and doing blogging and reading. I hadn't seen my mom for a while and she needed me to scan something, but she did a lot of helping with putting stuff away. Nice visit!
  
• Sunday was a super productive day because I took it easy the day before! Made some lists for the upcoming week. Made creamed corn and silly can art. Did laundry and dishes. Cleaned out the fridge and made a shopping list. Posted my Inktober drawings. Paid some bills, bought a birthday present for Victor, did karaoke, took out the trash, redecorated for Halloween, and tested some makeup for my Halloween costume.
  
• Monday I was supposed to meet my friend Steve for lunch but his daughter was sick so we couldn't and it sucked. Also found out we didn't win the project I helped on the interview for. Bummer!! We turned in a letter. At home I did Inktober stuff, cleaned up, took a nap, and posted some recipes.
  
• Tuesday I woke up early because of a weird bad dream. Work was stressful--had to turn in some more letters, and I got really close to missing a deadline. Went to the health food store near me, bought some pretzel ingredients and a bag of lentil chips and I ate the whole bag. Made the cute "Nicey Spicey" pretzels and they were actually edible for me which shocked me because they were spicy. Fell asleep on the floor.
  
• Wednesday I woke up early and baked cookies before work. Then at the office I had to jump right into my RCI data entry again which was fine. Day went by quickly! Worked on drawing after work. Jeaux came over and we ate at Best NY Pizza, shopped at Michaels and Publix, and watched Brooklyn Nine-Nine. After he left I baked a pie and finished my drawing.
  
• Thursday was more data entry. I was again supposed to see Steve but this time HE was sick and we decided he might get me sick if we saw each other so ARGH. After work I talked to Victor and drew more pictures for Inktober and my webcomic. After we hung up, I got some projects done and slept.
  
• Friday I took off work to do party prep. I started with coffee and a nice breakfast, and then I posted my webcomic, made a pumpkin roll while on the phone with Steve, did some drawing, made shortbread cookies and two kinds of muffins, cleaned up the house and the kitchen a bit, organized the dishes for the party and labeled things like I do, and worked on some blogging.

Personal Digest Saturday: October 5 – October 11

Life news this week:

• Saturday I processed some photos and made french toast for breakfast (a cartoon reference). And then I did my blogging and drawing for Inktober and then worked on my "shrimp" appetizer and breadsticks (a cartoon reference). We all know my life is a cartoon reference, right? I have too much food now.
  
• Sunday I ate garlic breadsticks all day. Like literally until late evening that was all I ate. Basically spent the day making food posts and working on Inktober. I also did a costume test for the makeup aspect of my upcoming Halloween costume: I'm going to be Amethyst, the purple Steven Universe character, so I figured I needed to be purple! The makeup came out all right. I took a shower after to stop being purple. Cleaned up a little bit of my display that I still hadn't gotten around to cleaning up and talked to my friend Steve in text messages.
  
• Monday began a series of interview preparations with the office team. We're shortlisted on a project nearby and I was part of the interview team so I had to practice with everyone and most of the practices were early morning. I took Lyft to work so I could be on time and not be worn out from the trip. We practiced twice and I spent the day preparing more upcoming letters too. After work I finished a drawing and cleaned up the kitchen.
  
• Tuesday was more interview practice and early Lyft morning. We practiced our interview twice with new questions. After the practices I had the day alone so I just did research. It rained really hard and I had no ride home so I stopped at a diner so I wouldn't have to walk in the rain. I had a good omelet! Still got wet on the way home because cars sprayed me! Read the new book The Tale of Steven and shared my review online.
  
• Wednesday was interview day. We had treats in the kitchen provided by two of the team members! We practiced in the morning and then went to our interview site. I was dressed up all nice. There was actually no question for me in the list so we worked my part into a broader question and it was all fine. After the interview, which we felt good about, we ate at First Watch and I had a yummy egg sandwich. I was tired after so I took a nap once I was home from work, and then I went out with Jeaux. We ate at Panera, shopped at Publix, and watched Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
  
• Thursday I was finally back to the bus! I had to do some data entry, some utility coordination, and some letters. Talked to Victor after work while drawing.
  
• Friday was the bus again. I beat everyone to the office! Cool. Spent the day on proposal packages, upcoming project reports, and research. After work I finished my webcomic and went to sleep.

• Finished this week: The Tale of Steven by Rebecca Sugar, Angie Wang, and Elle Michalka. Five-star review. Also I'm on page 167 of my current read.
