Personal Digest Saturday: September 17 – September 23

Life news this week:

  • Saturday I got up a bit late and played around in the morning not doing much, but then I walked to the post office and had to walk back with my package unsent because the self-service kiosk had its drop-off bin taped up and out of service. After I got back I jumped into blogging, did a LJ blog too, sent some Polos, and ate a lot. Recorded a Letters to an Asexual video and helped my sister and nephew with comics.

  • Sunday I had breakfast and went to Sarasota with Dad to have band practice. We added a new member to our band for keyboard! So we were trying our songs out with her participating. Then we ate at Ford's and I had a weird veggie burger, and after Dad took me home, I talked to Jeaux about awful videos, did laundry, and took out the trash. I ended up going to take a nap but sleeping late into the night.

  • Monday I went back to work and handled one more letter, a utility meeting, data fixes, stamps, and accounting tasks. After work I updated some personal files and listened to news. Did some Polos and played games with my pals online. Made a music playlist for the band gig coming up and went to bed early.

  • Tuesday I handled some track changes document stuff, collected some teaming documents, finalized a letter, went to a meeting, and fixed some data. Finally got to walk to the post office and actually send the package I had tried to send Saturday. Then I chatted to Tony outside (who recommended an ice cream place that Jeaux and I should go to), answered some online messages, found out we are going to get to be in the audience at the Colbert show when we go to New York, updated personal files, and worked on my Halloween costume.

  • Wednesday work was more low-key--did some reports and submitted some support material. Ate too many beaver nuggets and had a discussion with Jeremy about his book. Practiced some music. Went grocery shopping with Jeaux and got Chinese food at Wok On By, and picked up ice cream at the place Tony recommended, Tanya & Matt's. It ended up being so delicious! We watched Colbert and talked about friendship.

  • Thursday I had some trouble with my computer connecting but eventually got on. Collected teaming materials and helped gather some data for a report. Went to two meetings. Mom came over because she wanted me to fix her phone but the phone was already fixed when she gave it to me. I let her try my ice cream that was left over and she ate all of it! I redecorated for the equinox and Mom helped a little. When she left she accidentally left her phone at my house. In the evening I worked on my comic and podcast.

  • Friday I worked on upcoming project reports, timesheets, data updates, and processing a traffic count report. Talked to Meggie about exciting stuff. Finished the comic while processing the podcast. Crammed in my walking and karaoke and went to bed early.

Interviews, Articles, Mentions:

  • QuizPin has an Asexuality Test and mentions my work, though there are some questionable quotes that were lifted from places that didn't quite get it right.

Health Plan Update:

  • Weight stuff: After the weird spike last week I was very conservative with my eating EXCEPT for two things: Eating a whole bag of Beaver Nuggets and eating a heavy meal plus ice cream on Wednesday. And . . . I ended up with the same high and low as last week. Not great. I'm down from the peak again but we'll see what I do next. High weight: 120.2. Low weight: 117.6.
  • Nutrition stuff: Drank more water this week (good!). And the nutrition balance has been decent between carbs, fats, and protein (except one day I was really low on protein). I would say I did a mostly okay job eating fruits and vegetables but there were some days I didn't do as well. Still consistently taking the vitamins.
  • Activity stuff: I met my walking goal every day this week. My low day was Friday at 10,008 steps, and my high day was Tuesday at 13,612 steps.
Books Read:

  • Finished Reading: Nothing this week.

  • Currently reading: You Too? by Janet Gurtler. I'm on page 64.

    New singing performances:

This week's karaoke song is "Thank You" by Dido.

    Videos Made:

Letters to an Asexual #95 ("ACTUALLY, you have Asperger's") is out. In this video, a dude insists I have Asperger's Syndrome and hollers that his psychology degree means he's right and I'm wrong. (Also, after becoming infuriated when I told him how irresponsible it is to diagnose people from a video, he how illogical I was being, then threatened me and called me a bitch.) I explore some elements of the autism spectrum and why people should not use autism or asexuality as insults.

Not-So-Giant Women Episode 48: Story for Steven is out. Join Daria and Ivy as they watch and talk about "Story for Steven" and cover such topics Greg's rockstar life, Rose's interaction style, the younger Gems' old outfits, Beach City back in the day, Owlmethyst, Marty and his weird teeth, Gems' understanding of human concepts, Rose's possible human-dating habits, who added "please" to the "keep off" sign, Greg liking huge women, the origin of Steven's shirts, whether Greg and Rose had love at first sight, the show's balance between heavy emotions and wacky space rock fun, and Rose's giant tubular hair.

Personal Digest Saturday: September 10 – September 16

    Life news this week:

    • Saturday we got up early for our trip to Sarasota. Had breakfast with Meggie and Jeaux drove us to the band practice. We had practiced 9 of the 10 songs in our set when my dad checked his messages and found out our concert got canceled because of rain. So we just continued the practice to get some use out of the rest of our time anyway, and Meggie even sang with us for a half dozen songs (which was super fun). Then we went out for pizza with my dad and Connie. It was pretty nice! When we got back Jeaux went off to his D&D game, Meg and I took naps, and then we took a walk and made cardamom cookies and watched Big Hero Six (which I had never seen).

    • Sunday Meg and I had fruit and yogurt for breakfast and then she left and took most of the cookies off my hands. I did some walking, washed the bedclothes, sang a karaoke song, took a nap, and did my laundry and trash chores. Did some blogging.

    • Monday was Mom's birthday. I had a lot of work to do involving our utility project wrapping up and having to get letters out. I didn't get out until after 6 and then I went straight to my mom's where I gave her a reacher tool for her birthday, and also some chocolate. We had some pie that my sis had sent her. Then I played games with my friends and my mom even joined in on one game. Mom had trouble with her car again taking me home. When I got home I didn't have quite enough time to complete my walking goal and I was pissed about it. Texted with my sister about cartoons.

    • Tuesday my weird eating seemed to have caught up with me so I decided to go back to a more conservative diet. Boo. Worked on another letter and more utility stuff. After work I sent in story submissions, read, wrote e-mail, and listened to podcasts.

    • Wednesday I did data entry and more utility stuff. I just didn't have enough time to get my work done because of a combination of distractions/interruptions and computer lag. I advised my sister on costume stuff and paid Tony for the lawn service. Jeaux picked me up early and we went to get our booster shots! But it took a Really Long Time for some reason. When we finally got out we did our grocery shopping and picked up food from Little Greek. We caught up on Colbert, watched a John Oliver segment, and watched the last episode of Sandman. We did our walking and compared notes on having sore arms.

    • Thursday the side effects weren't bad but I was tired and took a few naps. Still worked through the day and got my data entry done. Wrote my storyboard for my comic but didn't draw anything. Went to bed early.

    • Friday I did reports, phone calls, letter edits, accounting tracking, and tune-ups on documents. I worked a little late so I had to rush to get my comic done and just barely made my step goal. Wow!

    Health Plan Update:

    • Weight stuff: Had a crazy spike because of too many days in a row eating a lot of stuff that wasn't great for me! I had been given some sweets for a gift and also had pizza and junk with friends. Decided to go back on a stricter diet after the high number and it's already come down some, but stiff. Bah. High weight: 120.2. Low weight: 117.6.
    • Nutrition stuff: The first half of the week included a bunch of junk--pizza, cookies, pie, Beaver Nuggets. I did much better the second half of the week with spinach and fruit included in my diet plus avoiding the eat-because-I'm-bored snacking, and vitamins have continued to be consistent!
    • Activity stuff: I met my walking goal every day this week except Monday (and only missed it by about 300 steps--due to a very involved work day and spending the evening at Mom's). My low day was Monday at 9,729 steps, and my high day was Tuesday at 10,863 steps.

Personal Digest Saturday (but posted on Sunday!): September 3 – September 9

      Life news this week:

      • Saturday I played on the internet until Mom was ready to go phone shopping. We got her a new phone, and then I went to her house to connect it to Wi-Fi and then help her put another curtain panel up. I also helped her deposit a check and cleaned her ceiling fan for her and helped fix a lamp. She gave me leftover pizza and her old printer but I forgot it at her house. When I got home I finished my blogging and updated some Polos.

      • Sunday I did four loads of laundry and took pictures of some new SU stuff I got. I got my Covid booster scheduled. Did some Polos, talked to Sarah on the phone, argued with jerks on Reddit, practiced some music, and recorded a karaoke song.

      • Monday was a holiday, so I was spending some time arguing with more jerks on Reddit in the morning. Then Mom unexpectedly showed up at my house, having been unable to call me and tell me because she said her phone wasn't letting her make outgoing calls. (It worked fine once at my house. Who knows.) She brought the printer I had forgotten and had bought me some ink for it! Nice. Then I worked on the podcast, wrote Negative One, practiced music, put away laundry and played games with friends.

      • Tuesday was a Mondayish Tuesday because we had to put letters out again. Had some computer troubles and had to deal with all four of my utility projects on the same day. I got my newest utility job uploaded into our system and got some essentials for the one that's almost finished done. Practiced music, drew some comics, read a terrible Twitter thread, processed more of my podcast, took a nap, sent out another short story, and worked on the next podcast.

      • Wednesday I did more data entry, accounting requests, utility stuff, meetings, and lots of computer problems. Worked on my webcomic also. Went shopping with Jeaux, and we got SoFresh rice bowls and watched the rest of Sandman, the last What We Do in the Shadows, and some Colbert videos.

      • Thursday I got my data entry done, wrapped up some more utility things, sent out some teaming requests, and watched Polos. Took a nap in the afternoon and when I got up Victor actually called me for the first time in a couple months. Caught up with him but nothing's really new. Got a lot done on my comic and my podcast.

      • Friday I did reports, meetings, teaming requests, and utility stuff. After work Meggie came and we ate Burger 21 food and farted around doing nothing. We went to bed early.

      New Reviews:

      Health Plan Update:

      • Weight stuff: Still doing okay, pretty stable, but higher than I'd like--and I haven't really done anything this week to change that. High weight: 118.1. Low weight: 117.6.
      • Nutrition stuff: Continued to do well with veggies and salads and fruits until the weekend hit, haha. Vitamins have been consistent!
      • Activity stuff: I met my walking goal every day this week. My low day was Wednesday at 10,125 steps, and my high day was Thursday at 17,887 steps.

Personal Digest Saturday: August 27 – September 2

        Life news this week:

        • Saturday I finished up some podcast planning, went to my mom's house for a while to see her new countertops and help her with her curtains, went home, and recorded "Beta" and "Earthlings" with Daria.

        • Sunday was more band practice--got some good work in, ate at Madfish afterwards, and did chores once I was home, plus got in some online screwing around and organizing podcast files.

        • Monday involved four letters going out, but we made it. And I got some documents in that I'd been waiting for for one of my projects! When work was over I felt like there was a really big gap between the end of the work day and the beginning of game night, but I don't know why. I colored some comic frames during our games and afterwards worked on the podcast.

        • Tuesday a guy calling the wrong number woke me up and called me 7 more times during the day until I was finally able to tell him he had the wrong number. Worked on my comic and helped my mom with her bills. Did some submitting and ate pearled couscous for the first time (yummy!). Wrote some journal stuff.

        • Wednesday I was locked out of my computer all day at work so I did what I could with my limited access. I worked on my podcast too. Jeaux picked me up and we grocery shopped and picked up food from Mandola's. Watched What We Do in the Shadows and a couple more episodes of Sandman and took a walk.

        • Thursday I got back into my work computer and did yesterday's work as well. Organized some meetings and did utility work. Made a Polo for Cara and while I was talking to her a ridiculous storm hit and lighting blew out my lights and fried my modem (so she got to actually watch me scream when it happened, haha). I had to run outside and make sure the house wasn't on fire because there was a burning smell. My office smelled like hot rubber for at least half an hour and my modem was destroyed. An outage happened in the area as well but since my modem was dead I had to go without internet for the rest of the night. Worked on my podcast editing and my webcomic.

        • Friday I got up early and went to my radiology appointment and then took my burned modem to the Spectrum store. Apparently I was not alone because when I got there I was 23rd in line. They did GREAT with helping me and it was so relatively fast! I got a new modem and a router and took them home and was able to set them up on my own. Finally I got back to work. I had missed one meeting but I was able go to to my afternoon meeting. We got a lot done, and I found out I have a new project to coordinate, and I had to make an ad for something else, plus I did my reports--very busy. I finished my webcomic and worked on a set list for the band--we have a gig next week!

        • Nutrition stuff: I have been doing VERY well with the vegetable eating, mostly because I bought extra salad (a tub of spinach AND a tub of mixed greens) so I have been eating it every day, plus getting lots of carrots. However, overdoing it on the fat content is still a problem this week. Vitamins have been consistent!
        • Activity stuff: I met my walking goal every day this week. My low day was Tuesday at 10,090 steps, and my high day was Wednesday at 11,948 steps.
