Personal Digest Saturday (but posted on Sunday!): September 19 – September 25

Life news this week:

  • Saturday I got up Super Late and ate some apple and honey oatmeal because, well, Rosh Hashanah. But I didn't like do anything else to honor the holiday so I dunno, I just like the food part. I played around with my blogging and wrote a quiz. And I worked on my epic e-mail to Cara. We got a power outage so I had to reconstruct part of my blogging when I was almost done. :/

  • Sunday I got my karaoke done, sent my epic e-mail, and got some Polos for Patricia done. I ate palm hearts pasta and talked to Meghan on the phone while taking care of the trash, putting laundry in, and cleaning out my pantry. The rest of the day I did walking, played games, and posted weird blogs.

  • Monday the server was down at work all day. Luckily my computer itself was up and I could still do some things. I spent the entire day on project manager reports which weren't due until Friday, and then had nothing else I could work on without the server so I did the same reports for the following periods too. Also took some more walks and made Polos for my sister. Then I played games with my friends after work and Victor finally got his mic working. Texted with pals afterwards.

  • Tuesday the server was back. The computer guys found a fix at 11:30 the night before! Poor guys. I did my data entry project and did some walks and half of my laundry got put away. After work I worked on the transcript for my latest video and did some other random Internet stuff.

  • Wednesday was more data entry. I got a bunch done before Jeaux came. We shopped at Target instead of Publix because he wanted to buy a toaster. We made vegetarian shepherd's pie for dinner and it was awesome. We also talked about transphobia for a long time, watched some videos, and saw one episode of The Umbrella Academy.

  • Thursday work was pretty hard, most difficult day of the week. I had two meetings, both about utilities, on different projects. One meeting was supposed to be to show me how the utility module worked, which I just got access to, but it went on for two hours 'cause we were just chatting about utility coordination in general. (Also I got to see the other lady's dog on camera.) Then in the afternoon we had a utilities kick-off meeting and I actually got to talk and ask questions, which is unusual in meetings that are more than just me and another person. I think I'm okay with this project. In between those I had to help with a stamp digital image and help an engineer apply it to his plans. After work I wrote my comic script and talked to Victor on the phone while drawing comics.

  • Friday was also unexpectedly busy at work--they decided to move the server to the new office during the work day instead of doing it on the weekend like we'd been told, which meant my data that was due that day I had to scurry to get it done before and after. Like, I didn't eat until it was offline and then I worked until after 7 PM to get everything I wanted to do done. And I found out I have ANOTHER project I'll be doing utilities on, so I had to get the ticket thingie that tells me what utilities are out there by the project. Looks like a bear, yikes. After work I did manage to get my comic drawn and went to bed early.

Food Plan Update:

  • I'm still doing fine on my food and exercise plan but the scale has decided to stall. Well, that's not entirely true; it went down and back up again. I'm at the same spot I was this time last week. I'm sure I can do better. Still need to think about how to get more vegetables into my diet consistently, and maybe I should cut the crackers I'm eating once I finish this box. I can probably find something better or try to eat hummus with carrots more.

Personal Digest Saturday: September 12 – September 18

    Life news this week:

    • Saturday was a great day! It was Mom's birthday so I went to her house (Jeaux was my driver, nice guy that he is!). I brought presents to her from me and my sisters. We hung out and talked and she made me a grilled cheese sandwich. She took a nap in between and I cleaned her microwave. :D She gave me carrots and some other stuff she got at the food pantry that she isn't going to use. We also did a video chat with sister P and her son. When I got home I recorded the podcast discussion with Daria for the famous Season 1 Finale of Steven Universe: "The Return" and "Jailbreak." We had a great time and talked about it for 5 hours. (Not exaggeration.)

    • Sunday I tried to watch Hamilton with my dad but the technology didn't pan out, so that was a bummer. I did laundry and took some walks and got my blogging done from the day before because I was too busy Saturday to do it. I wrote a quiz and started reading again, and also helped Mom find doctors since one of her specialists appears to have moved to Texas.

    • Monday I started work a little late but had a ton to do. My boss had a record SIX letters going out to District 2 and I had to read and format and send all of them. Busy all day and couldn't take walk breaks! Sure glad I didn't have any connection issues or computer problems. After work I played games with my friends online and made some Polos for sister P.

    • Tuesday was a comparatively slow work day. I stayed late to update my data entry stuff though. Also I did my little trick of getting extra steps by putting away laundry one piece at a time. I began processing the next ace interview--an interviewee named yaelaed who will surely be a lot of fun for everyone to meet. Went on a walk after work in a direction I've never gone before and ended up walking by some middle schools I never attended. At home I did some videos for P and then tested some technology with her because we want to play sister games online. I got to see some art from Ash. :)

    • Wednesday I did more data entry and managed some short walks. I completed editing yaelaed's interview and e-mailed them to review it but they haven't responded yet so I can't publish it as such. Jeaux came over and we did our shopping, and just ate tater tots and hot dogs. (Mine were veggie dogs of course.) We finished watching Season 2 of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts. The house started getting hot after 11 PM and it was because my AC died. I sent a message to my property manager. Then on a whim I recorded a ukulele cover of the pilot version of the Steven Universe theme song. It's really dorky but I did a poll on Amino about what kind of uke covers they want to see and the option to see me do every song in the show in the airing order was the winner, so I started at the beginning.

    • Thursday I had a hot morning dealing with the busted AC, but I was fine working through it with a fan blowing on me. The repair person came in the afternoon and fixed a clogged pipe that had gotten backed up with water. I did more work on data entry. This work order is really long and I still don't even have all of it. Later I took walks and talked to Victor on the phone, tested technology with sister L, and then later got together with both sisters to play online games. We all played and talked into the wee hours and it was wonderful to hang out with my gals.

    • Friday I did a little bit of data entry but didn't get to do too much because I got pulled into some interview practice for an upcoming Melbourne presentation. (They needed a timekeeper. It kept me busy.) Then I edited their presentation afterwards and work was over. I did some walking and some comic art, and the Negative One update was more intense than usual because I was into a new set of a hundred (issue 801!) so all the folders have to shift and it means a lot of coding update. My post with my ukulele cover on Amino got a front-page feature, so that's pretty cool! I didn't think anyone would like it. I managed to meet my step goal doing some walking-in-place exercises while watching silly Internet reactions.

    Food Plan Update:

    • Nothing too Earth-shattering to report. I haven't done any aggressive exercise this week besides just walking, but that's all I need sometimes, and it's plenty. I've reached a new low on the scale this week (though due to small fluctuations I am back to a little above that at the end of the week). It may have had something to do with finding some older bread that I'd forgotten about and eating a bunch of it. Maybe I won't do stuff like that. I haven't gotten to eat oatmeal as much as I'd like, mostly ending up with eating bread or eggs instead. So hopefully I'll go back to oatmealing next week, as well as getting some more exercise and trying to incorporate more vegetables.

    Reading progress:

    • Finished Reading: Nothing finished this week, but I did jump back into reading and I should be having book reviews back on the blog soon!

Personal Digest Saturday (but posted on Sunday!): September 5 – September 11

      Life news this week:

      • Saturday I took some walks and procrastinated on doing my blog stuff. Somehow I managed to take all day not quite finishing and barely finishing my planning for the podcast recording. Oh, I also made a taco and watched some reactions. My podcast partner Daria and I recorded two episodes for the show, "The Message" and "Political Power." Then afterwards I still managed to finish the blogging and got my walking in.

      • Sunday I did manage to get laundry done but other than that it was mostly playing on the Internet and taking walks. I also took the trash out but remembered I wouldn't get pickup the next day because it's a holiday. It was too rainy to do some of my walking outside so I just artificially inflated my indoor walking by folding my laundry and putting each piece away individually, walking between the garage and the piece of clothing's intended place. Definitely got a lot of steps out of that. :) I also did maintenance on my water system, posted some pictures of my most ambitious past recipes, worked on a podcast video, and played my ukulele.

      • Monday I didn't have to work but I didn't really use the time wisely. I got my karaoke done (I usually do it on Sunday but didn't). And posted a new podcast. I wasted a bunch of time reading old stuff and watching reactions. Then I played games with my friends online and we enjoyed the trivia game where you pretend to be creepy toys. Then played DDR after and got started on the next podcast.

      • Tuesday was a work Monday. It wasn't too busy but it did involve editing a letter and going to meetings. I couldn't walk again because it was too rainy! So I played DDR after work to get more steps and worked on a podcast edit and argued with Jeaux over text about cartoons. My "ambitious food" pictures got a front-page feature on SU Amino, hooray.

      • Wednesday I woke up late but also worked late. I did a bunch of proofreading on a proposal and did some recordings to make a harmonic compilation of the Steven Universe theme song. I'll make a video for it at some point. And I read through the latest Steven Universe trade paperback--comics I had already read but it was a new book. Oh, and I'm back to data entry on the project we have. After work Jeaux took me to the store and we came home and had breakfast for dinner while watching silly videos and then he showed me two more episodes of Umbrella Academy.

      • Thursday I was supposed to go to the office and prepare a proposal but my boss was busy and already at the office so he asked me to send him information on how to compile the proposal himself! I didn't have to do it! So I sent him a list of what needed to be done and then he did it. I did some walks and planned my comic. Victor called and we talked about the usual stuff until he dozed off. Then later I ended up chatting with Jeaux on the phone.

      • Friday I had to do my usual biweekly reports and some utility coordination stuff. And my street is being demolished in front of my house because they're fixing the problem with the road caving in. Apparently there are issues with the water system under the street. After work I struggled to get my webcomic up in time and also get my steps in, but I made it!

      Food Plan Update:

      • Everything's rolling along fine. Still staying under my allocation of food and eating better stuff almost all the time (and it's in moderation if I make a "less healthy" decision), and the walking and DDR aerobics are really keeping me much more active than I was before I started all this. I'm happy with the results I'm seeing on the scale and I feel like it might even be starting to be visible that I've dropped some weight. I think I'm doing the right thing.

Personal Digest Saturday: August 29 – September 4

        Life news this week:

        • Saturday involved some household chores and oatmeal. I got my blogging done and processed some old updates, and discussed an eBay sale with an online acquaintance. Jeaux and I got together online to watch Owl House's finale. It was pretty good and we chatted on the Internet together for a while after it was over. I finally used up some old potatoes I had and made mashed potatoes with the skins on, which I ate for three days afterwards. Also tried some macarons that sister P bought me from Kate, and worked on editing a podcast.

        • Sunday I woke up on the early side and got some nice walks in but I kept getting caught in the rain. I finished my edits on the podcast and then worked on the transcript for Maxwell's video interview, did laundry, planned my So You Write comic, and chatted online.

        • Monday was kind of a Monday. My internet connection went out and I had urgent business at work. And then when I finally managed to connect wirelessly to someone else's connection that happened to have a Guest option, my computer at the office was off so I couldn't remote into it. Chatted to my co-worker Karen about possibly going to the office but we ended up not having to because my boss went to the office and restarted it for me. I got some letters and proposals edited and sent. Then after work I hung out with my friends and played games while drawing for my webcomic. I posted the comic after the games were over. And after some walks to get my steps squared away, I got the video of me and Maxwell subtitled and posted.

        • Tuesday I got my bills paid and worked. Also did some cleaning up and listened to videos from my sister. After work I did a Zoom call with my dad to catch up and took some walks, worked on my podcast.

        • Wednesday was a pretty action-packed day. I got two meetings done in the morning, knocked out some administrative forms for an upcoming proposal, got picked up by my co-worker Karen and packed up my stuff at the office because we're moving, got some forms filled out and copies made, and attended one more group meeting with some new employees. Karen bought me a sandwich. Then later after I went home I went back out with Jeaux to the grocery store, and Mom came over to celebrate my book's book-a-versary (it's now been out for 6 years!). She made sandwiches and soup for us and we watched some silly videos and hung out. After she left Jeaux showed me one episode of a show called Umbrella Academy that he wants me to watch. (He cut out something violent at the beginning that I wouldn't want to see.)

        • Thursday I had to play catch-up on walking late in the day because I didn't walk early in the day. And I did DDR after work! Victor called and I drew my comics while talking to him, but he fell asleep so I drew more after he went to sleep.

        • Friday I did data entry all day at work. Then took a long nap and got up and finished the comic, and then found out that the karaoke page I go to was doing a one-day cartoon event where you're supposed to dress up like a cartoon and sing, so of course I did it (with only a couple hours to spare). And I got my comic posted and shared some funny recipes online.

        Food Plan Update:

        • Doing well, but having a little trouble getting hungry at the end of the night lately, like right before bed. Sometimes I eat stuff and usually I don't, but it overall doesn't seem to be affecting anything. I'm still satisfied with my progress. I may or may not hit the goal weight at the end of the program in a few weeks. If I do, it will be very close. I'm not interested in treating it like a race though. If that's when it happens, it happens. This week I've also increased my willingness to eat salads by actually using dressing I like. I have a bunch of dressings I'm not hugely fond of and that makes me less interested in eating salads, but I love salad when it's got the right dressing!

        Reading progress:

        • Finished Reading: Nothing, paused on reading projects right now!
          New singing performances:

This week's karaoke song is "I Think We're Alone Now" by Tiffany.

And the bonus karaoke song for Cartoon Challenge is "It's Over, Isn't It" from Steven Universe.

          Stuff Drawn:

Webcomic Negative One Issue 0799: "Exceptional Kindness."

Not-So-Giant Women #13: "So Many Birthdays": Join Daria and Ivy as they watch and talk about "So Many Birthdays" and cover such topics as vegan tuna, the Gems' involvement in human affairs, Old Steven lookin' like Danny DeVito, the Gems' emotional reactions, Steven's middle name, Zach Callison's fluctuating voices for different ages of Steven, Steven's "birthday suit," a digression about the disadvantages of time travel, and the concept of Amethyst having a yard sale.
