Personal Digest Saturday: September 12 – September 18

Life news this week:

  • Saturday was a great day! It was Mom's birthday so I went to her house (Jeaux was my driver, nice guy that he is!). I brought presents to her from me and my sisters. We hung out and talked and she made me a grilled cheese sandwich. She took a nap in between and I cleaned her microwave. :D She gave me carrots and some other stuff she got at the food pantry that she isn't going to use. We also did a video chat with sister P and her son. When I got home I recorded the podcast discussion with Daria for the famous Season 1 Finale of Steven Universe: "The Return" and "Jailbreak." We had a great time and talked about it for 5 hours. (Not exaggeration.)

  • Sunday I tried to watch Hamilton with my dad but the technology didn't pan out, so that was a bummer. I did laundry and took some walks and got my blogging done from the day before because I was too busy Saturday to do it. I wrote a quiz and started reading again, and also helped Mom find doctors since one of her specialists appears to have moved to Texas.

  • Monday I started work a little late but had a ton to do. My boss had a record SIX letters going out to District 2 and I had to read and format and send all of them. Busy all day and couldn't take walk breaks! Sure glad I didn't have any connection issues or computer problems. After work I played games with my friends online and made some Polos for sister P.

  • Tuesday was a comparatively slow work day. I stayed late to update my data entry stuff though. Also I did my little trick of getting extra steps by putting away laundry one piece at a time. I began processing the next ace interview--an interviewee named yaelaed who will surely be a lot of fun for everyone to meet. Went on a walk after work in a direction I've never gone before and ended up walking by some middle schools I never attended. At home I did some videos for P and then tested some technology with her because we want to play sister games online. I got to see some art from Ash. :)

  • Wednesday I did more data entry and managed some short walks. I completed editing yaelaed's interview and e-mailed them to review it but they haven't responded yet so I can't publish it as such. Jeaux came over and we did our shopping, and just ate tater tots and hot dogs. (Mine were veggie dogs of course.) We finished watching Season 2 of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts. The house started getting hot after 11 PM and it was because my AC died. I sent a message to my property manager. Then on a whim I recorded a ukulele cover of the pilot version of the Steven Universe theme song. It's really dorky but I did a poll on Amino about what kind of uke covers they want to see and the option to see me do every song in the show in the airing order was the winner, so I started at the beginning.

  • Thursday I had a hot morning dealing with the busted AC, but I was fine working through it with a fan blowing on me. The repair person came in the afternoon and fixed a clogged pipe that had gotten backed up with water. I did more work on data entry. This work order is really long and I still don't even have all of it. Later I took walks and talked to Victor on the phone, tested technology with sister L, and then later got together with both sisters to play online games. We all played and talked into the wee hours and it was wonderful to hang out with my gals.

  • Friday I did a little bit of data entry but didn't get to do too much because I got pulled into some interview practice for an upcoming Melbourne presentation. (They needed a timekeeper. It kept me busy.) Then I edited their presentation afterwards and work was over. I did some walking and some comic art, and the Negative One update was more intense than usual because I was into a new set of a hundred (issue 801!) so all the folders have to shift and it means a lot of coding update. My post with my ukulele cover on Amino got a front-page feature, so that's pretty cool! I didn't think anyone would like it. I managed to meet my step goal doing some walking-in-place exercises while watching silly Internet reactions.

Food Plan Update:

  • Nothing too Earth-shattering to report. I haven't done any aggressive exercise this week besides just walking, but that's all I need sometimes, and it's plenty. I've reached a new low on the scale this week (though due to small fluctuations I am back to a little above that at the end of the week). It may have had something to do with finding some older bread that I'd forgotten about and eating a bunch of it. Maybe I won't do stuff like that. I haven't gotten to eat oatmeal as much as I'd like, mostly ending up with eating bread or eggs instead. So hopefully I'll go back to oatmealing next week, as well as getting some more exercise and trying to incorporate more vegetables.

Reading progress:

  • Finished Reading: Nothing finished this week, but I did jump back into reading and I should be having book reviews back on the blog soon!

This week's karaoke song is "Don't Let's Start" by They Might Be Giants.
