Personal Digest Saturday - June 20 – June 26

Life news this week:

  • Saturday I had a late awakening and slow beginning of the day. Nice to have some slower-paced days, though. I got some blogging done, played DDR, posted about my latest wish list items for my Steven Universe collection, practiced music, and made cookies for my dad. I finally reported to my property management company that my freezer is failing. My ice cream is mushy! Can't have that. And then I worked on my rewritten short story and did a voice-over audition.

  • Sunday I got enough time to have breakfast and clean up the kitchen before my dad got to my place to spend some Dad/daughter time for Father's Day. We hashed out our set list for our upcoming performance and then had a meal at Steaming Pots, a West African restaurant. Both of our first time eating fufu! Yum. At home we played with the set list some more and talked about the band. I gave him the cookies I made. After he left I did laundry and took out the trash and took a nap. Then I got up, read my planner for photo page research, practiced our first set from the set list, and did some new drawings of characters from my latest novella. Also, really weird news: Phil, my high school boyfriend (with whom I was not in touch) died Sunday afternoon, suddenly from a stroke. He was 49. I found out quickly through my usual grapevine: Meghan told me; Meghan's daughter told her; her daughter's father (Phil's brother) told her.

  • Monday I went to work and had one meeting and entered stuff into QuickBooks for my boss, and sent some reminder e-mails to people. Did a Polo for Meg and put away laundry and did aerobics. Did a bunch more drawings from my novella.

  • Tuesday was a mostly pajamas day. I'm silly taht way sometimes. I chased e-mail confirmations at work and updated some timesheet stuff. And found out we got shortlisted for a new project and now we have to prepare for it. Got more drawings done and sent silliness to my critique partner. Took a nap, did some band practice, did some voice-over stuff, and did some reading. Got selected for a new voice-over role for a short one-shot project.

  • Wednesday I spent the work day doing a transcript. Sent out some new queries for my latest book and played DDR. A maintenance tech showed up at my house and checked out my freezer. He says I need a whole new unit because it's too old to repair--they don't have the parts anymore. Aw wow. Jeaux and I ate at Saki and did our grocery shopping and told each other silly things about misogynists on the internet. After he left I sent one more query and went to bed.

  • Thursday I finished the transcript for work and did some updates on timesheets. I wrote my webcomic, practiced music, read some planner stuff, and got selected for ANOTHER voice-over role--a minor recurring role in a sci-fi audio drama. Played online games with my friends and drew a little. Submitted a short story and read some of a book.

  • Friday went according to plan. Knocked out the upcoming project reports throughout the day and also researched a couple projects. Did my comic drawings relatively early. My new refrigerator was delivered so I had to scramble to take all the magnets off the old one and take all the food out. Then I had to get the food back in quickly enough to not have it spoil (and hope the fridge would get down to temperature quickly enough). Seems to have turned out all right. I did a bunch of band stuff (printing lists, updating cards, making a tip jar graphic). I did some aerobics, posted my webcomic, practiced music, paid some bills, and cleared one of my inboxes.

Health Plan Update:

  • Nutrition stuff: I got my three servings of fruits and veggies every day this week, and met my protein goals 6 out of 7 days. Restaurant Day (Wednesday) was a high-fat day due to that yummy tempura veggie dish and spring rolls. I am still taking my vitamins.

  • Activity stuff: I'm continuing to do DDR or aerobics every other day. I made my 10,000-step walking goal every day this week. Based on my phone's app, my low day was Monday at 10,065 steps, and my high day was Sunday at 13,301 steps.
