Year-End Survey 2025

Here's my year-end survey for 2025!

1. What did you do in 2025 that you'd never done before?

  • Read lines for voice-over projects.
  • Participated in table reads for voice-over projects.
  • Got my first manicure.
  • Sang at gay karaoke.

  • Got a dental guard.
  • Submitted short stories for reprints.
  • Saw a concert at the Fillmore.

  • Wrote an introduction for someone else's book.
  • Stayed at my sister's house in San Francisco.

  • Called a Senator.
  • Called a Representative.
  • Got to hear my first audio projects get released that I did voices in.
  • Went to Lake City for interviews at work.

  • Participated in a presentation at work.
  • Went to a professional audition for voice-over work.
  • Went to the Castro.

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

Last year, these were my resolutions, and whether I kept them:
  1. Health Goals:

    1. WEIGHT: I had no specific weight goal--just wanted to keep my eye on it to see if there were any symptoms of thyroid-related gains, and otherwise just wanted to avoid having to buy new clothes. Result: I monitored for most of the year (with some short stretches of not checking in with the scale), and nothing has changed drastically. I am happy with my weight.

    2. DRINKING WATER: I decided to shoot for at least four glasses a day and began tracking on an app. Result: This was a success. I only missed my four-glasses goal 8 times out of the entire year (and all of those times it was 3 glasses, falling short of 4). My alternating-between-beverages schedule works out very well and it tends to only fall short if I get tired early and fall asleep in the evening before I've had my last glass.

    3. NUTRITION: I aimed for three servings of fruit and veggies, with one of the veggies being a green veggie, and consistent taking of vitamins. Result: I regularly made my goal, but there were 30 days this year that I did not get in that last serving. It was intermittent, and generally again just because I went to bed before having a nighttime snacky fruit or something. I added B vitamins into the mix late in the year.

    4. EXERCISE: I resolved to walk at least 10,000 steps a day and do another non-walking aerobic activity once a week. Result: I consider this goal met, but there were two days (out of the whole year!) when I didn't make the goal. Literally both of them were less than 500 steps from the goal--I just didn't notice until it was too late. One was May 19 at 9,625 steps and the other was August 21 at 9,820 steps. I regularly overshot the goal by a LOT. I ended up doing aerobics (either DDR or a walking-with-weights fitness video) every other day for the entire year, so I think I more than met the goal.

    5. HEALTH PROFESSIONALS: I planned to make and keep health appointments. Result: Complete. I did routine bloodwork, routine physical, mammogram, dermatology, and a cleaning at the dentist. Unfortunately also had some visits about my ear being weird and my foot being weird, and had to have my toenail taken off again. Ugh.

  2. Personal Project and Professional Goals: I was unsure whether more structure or less structure would help here. I decided to try MORE structure. This is what shook out.

    1. WRITING STUFF. Goal was to finish two novels and one short story in 2025 by writing new content on Saturdays, Mondays, and Tuesdays, with editing active projects also counting as writing. And I would do query submissions and short story submissions on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Result: I finished one novel and no short stories. The editing was harder than I expected because of the extreme length, but I should have seen that coming. I am not done with the last edit yet, but I'm VERY close. I did not find new representation for my older novels this year. I did sell one short story. I'm disappointed it wasn't more, but I'm glad there was one success.

    2. WEBSITE STUFF. Photo Project: Intention was to scan the rest of my photos from physical albums, go through the boxes in the closet and scan/sort those, put loose photos in albums or boxes, and post and tag the photos on my website. Result: All photos scanned, sorted, and albumed. The posting and tagging process is close to complete, but I have a little ways to go. Currently stuck in the year 2001 going backwards, but everything's sorted and I just have to do it.

      Autobio Website:
Intention was to revamp and update the autobiographical part of my website from where I left off in 2006. Result: I was not able to start this in earnest, but some aspects of this document were updated along with my photo sorting as I was doing it.

      Essays and Rants:
Intention was to organize various writings of various sorts with a more organized tagging system, gathering from all the places I've posted content over the years, like LiveJournal, my Twitter posts, and my Tumblr posts. Result: I have gathered a small amount of this material from Facebook. Nothing else has been done on this.

      Steven Universe Fansite:
Intention was to collect my merchandise collection photos, recipes, and other fan content I've made into one place. Result: The placeholder website has been reserved, but I have not done the content at all. To be fair, I'm doing website stuff in order and the FIRST of these projects isn't done yet, so of course the projects after it on the list aren't done.

    3. MUSIC STUFF. Intention was to learn/re-learn all the Steven Universe songs on ukulele in the first half of the year so I could play them at the summer convention. Result: I completed this. I learned all the songs. And then proceeded to not practice anymore after meeting the goal, so I've probably forgotten many of them.

    4. REGULAR CONTENT. Intention was to continue posting the Negative One webcomic every week and the So You Write webcomic every month, a new asexuality video every month, and Not-So-Giant Women with Daria based on her availability. Result: Complete success on this with regard to webcomics and videos. Daria, however, has disappeared and has not spoken to me or answered a message for the entirety of this year, so I have no idea what her intentions are with our project.

    5. VOICE ACTING. Intention was to take this new goal and "hopefully get a few more roles." Result: At the very end of last year I got a wild hair to start trying out for stuff and was awarded the first role I tried out for. So I decided to pursue it more diligently and now at the end of 2025 I have been cast in ten more roles (eight of which I auditioned for; two of which were given to me as additional roles by directors I was already working with). This has honestly gone better than I expected!

  3. Reading Goals: I did not have a specific number of books in mind to read, but I resolved to try to read twice a week and combine it with exercise, and continue documenting my reviews. Result: I did not read anywhere near twice a week and did so inconsistently. I was content to let this goal slide because I prioritized other goals, but it was still disappointing. I only read six books this year.

  4. Relationship and Communication Goals:

    1. DOCUMENTATION: I resolved to do better about documenting everyday life in the reflections I miss having. Result: Bullshit, frankly. I didn't do it at all. I still want to.

    2. COMMUNICATION: I resolved to answer e-mails promptly and put more content on social media. Result: E-mail went really well! I didn't leave communication unanswered very often, with a few stretches of not replying to OKCupid messages as fast as I meant to. But I did not succeed in posting on social media like I wanted to.

    3. SOCIAL LIFE: I resolved to be present with family and friends and make time for them, within reason balancing against my creative goals. This includes regular weekly game night with my friends and hangouts with Jeaux. Result: I did okay here. I did pull back on spending time and energy trying to engage with friends who weren't matching my investment in the friendship, and if things change in the future, I will change too. I hope my family and friends felt valued with the amount of attention and time I gave them.

  5. Other Goals:

    1. Sell or donate some of the extra things in my garage: I made some headway here! But not all of it is done.

    2. Paint that damn pillar I've been putting off painting: I did it!

    3. Keep my house clean (I do a good job with this): I did it!

    4. Try to watch those silly TV shows I have been talking about watching: I still have one hanging out to watch.

    5. Don't bite my nails: Kind of? I can't bite my nails the way I used to because I broke a tooth and had it repaired. For a while I stopped and let them grow but I didn't like having long nails. So now I have been kind of intentionally biting them a different way? It's weird.

FOR 2026, HERE ARE MY RESOLUTIONS:

  1. Health Goals: Going to continue the trend to make similar goals for next year.

    1. WEIGHT: Just maintenance as a goal. I have some numbers I'd like to aim for and some numbers I don't want to exceed, but until or unless a doctor says something, I don't want to focus on this. I will stop sharing specific numbers about this in 2026, but may vaguely refer to it here and there.

    2. DRINKING WATER: Four glasses a day as a minimum. Last year I was almost completely successful, but I wonder if I can get a perfect score in 2026? I will try to get this done earlier in the day than I did in 2025.

    3. NUTRITION: Three servings of fruit and veggies is the goal, with one of the veggies being a green veggie, and will try to use my tracking to balance nutrients better--primarily focusing on whether I get enough protein. I'll try to knock out the fruit and veggie servings earlier in the day to avoid flopping on this too. Currently I am taking rather a lot of vitamins: D3, red yeast rice, CoQ-10, biotin, B vitamins, and a multivitamin. I will keep this up in 2026.

    4. EXERCISE: I will continue to walk at least 10,000 steps a day (tracked with the app on my phone). I am now using a FitBit that prompts me to move at regular intervals and that is pretty nice. I don't think I need to change my habits for this because I met the goal every day except for two accidental days when I had over 9,000 but not quite 10,000. That's so picky. I will also continue to do additional aerobic activity every other day as I've liked how that worked out.
    5. HEALTH PROFESSIONALS: I plan to make and keep appointments to do the important screenings for bloodwork, physical, mammograms, dermatology, and a cleaning at the dentist once a year.

  2. Personal Project and Professional Goals: Last year's query about whether more structure or less structure was best ended up falling to "more structure" as an answer, and I was happy with it, so I will continue. I had developed a Projects Calendar, and though I always completed the goals on it, I didn't always do them on the exact day they were "assigned," and I think that's okay. I do have a tendency to get blocked in and fixated on meeting goals instead of letting myself slide on them ever, which causes a little stress, but sometimes mild stress is okay as a motivator as long as it's not truly disruptive. I think I would like to assign these goals a little more ahead of time--like maybe block out the month instead of the week--and maybe I'll get more of this stuff done if I develop patterns similar to the ones that worked so well this year.

    1. WRITING STUFF.

      • The goal: First, complete editing on In Bloom. Get it short enough to share with my test audience. Gather my test audience and provide the samples. Collect and incorporate feedback. Develop pitch materials. And start querying it. This year.

      • Once the book is out the door on its quest for representation, I will avoid spinning my wheels by picking up where I left off on my other in-progress novel, Ace of Arts.

      • The novel work--whatever part of it I happen to be on at the time this year--will happen on Saturdays, Mondays, and Tuesdays, as that worked out great for 2025.

      • I will also have a soft goal of writing at least two more short stories this year. I need more queer fantasy/science fiction stories to send out, as I've sold all of mine (this is a good problem to have). Sending out short stories to anthologies and magazines is a goal for Thursdays.

      • I will expand my efforts to find representation for older projects until the latest book is ready to query and then I'll focus on that. I have three novels I could query and I've only been doing one of them. I think I could do more. The querying is assigned to Wednesdays.

    2. WEBSITE STUFF.

      • Photo Project: All I need to do is get the photos organized and tagged from 2001 and earlier; nearly all of the hard work was complete with 2025's goals. I'm doing this with the assistance of journal entries and timelines. This is first, but it will be done soon. I will hit this on various days through the week until it's done. When it's done, the next projects below will jump into those time slots on my project calendar.

      • Steven Universe Fansite: I'm moving this up in the hierarchy. I'm going to start photographing collections and organizing them on the website that has a placeholder right now. Then I'll do recipes. Then book and comic reviews. Then reflections and analysis I've written elsewhere. Then interview and podcast highlights I've developed elsewhere. And finally, personal content like song covers, cosplay photos, and art and fan comics.

      • Autobio Website: No one cares about this but me, haha, but I still plan to do it. It's in line after the fansite is done. I'll reconstruct the important bits from a timeline I've kept up to date since 2006, and then I'll beef them up with details from my journals.

      • Essays and Rants Site: I want to create a tagged, organized, somewhat comprehensive collection of writings in blog format. There will be a lot of cutting and pasting, and I want to collect some content from my old LiveJournal, my Twitter posts, and my Tumblr posts. I'd like to have my short stories, long fiction, and writings from my youth somewhere on the site too, but I haven't decided yet whether I want to keep creative writing on a separate page or just have one big one.

    3. MUSIC STUFF. I will not have any specific goals for music this year besides learning new songs with my band and performing when we have gigs. I may pick up my ukulele here and there to stay in practice but I don't want to focus on this this year.

    4. REGULAR CONTENT. I resolve to continue posting a new Negative One webcomic every week and a new So You Write webcomic every month. I'll post a new asexuality video every month. If Daria ever resurfaces I'll try to get back to Not-So-Giant Women but I'm not holding my breath--I miss her, but I trust her that she's doing what she needs to do.

    5. VOICE ACTING. This will be tricky. This year I've been more successful than I expected getting cast in amateur productions, so next year I'd like to make it a goal to collect enough performances that have actually been released for me to develop a reel. If that happens (it's a little out of my control), I will see if I can work with a friend to create at least one professional reel and join one of the more professional casting call sites so I can access professional auditions. (A lot of serious productions don't put them out publicly, though some do and I've been replying to them.) Beyond that, I'll continue to audition for productions as I see them, but this will not be on a specific schedule. However, as I get cast in shows that have deadlines, those will of course go on my project calendar.

  3. Reading Goals: I can't help but feel disappointed at how little I've been reading the past few years, even though it's hard to find time amidst all these other creative goals I've obviously got (and let's not forget a full-time job). So this year, I'm gonna take a crack at reading one chapter or section of the book I'm on on alternating days when I don't have exercise on the calendar. It doesn't take very long and I really think writers should read, so I need to put my money where my mouth is on that. Goal set!

  4. Relationship and Communication Goals:

    1. DOCUMENTATION: I'm mad at myself for my failures on this in recent years. This is what I'm gonna do. My main outlet for all my ranting and reflection for the recent past has been my best friend. I just rant to her on Marco Polo. So if I have something I really wanna tell her, I'm gonna try writing it up first! Wanting to tell her about things will motivate me to do that first so I can tell her. I also have some backlog to get through of work stuff I really wanted to rant about, and I think I have literally like nine months' worth, but it was sporadic. I'll get it out in a Very Special Episode perhaps. I will begin doing this immediately along with my new regimen of rantage.

    2. COMMUNICATION: I've done well with e-mail communication and social media comments. I'll keep doing what I'm doing. I'd still like to post more frequently--perhaps to share photos or short thoughts--on places like Instagram, Bluesky, and Threads, and put things on my Tumblr blog. This will be a bit of a lifestyle change, but I used to do it all the time. I just don't anymore. I want to again. I may use photos and news as a motivator for this. I'm not looking for followers with this. Just want to put nice stuff out there for people to enjoy as well as keep people in my life informed on what's going on.

    3. SOCIAL LIFE: Jeaux Day, game night, and band practices will continue. We have a huge hangout planned for Meg's 50th birthday in January. And my 2026 will be enhanced by the nearby presence of two dear old friends: Kari has just moved into my neighborhood, so I anticipate many hangouts with her, and Meghan has sold her house and will be moving much closer, so I want to incorporate regular hangouts with her into my life. I can't wait.

  5. Other Goals:

    1. Sell or donate the rest of the items my garage left over from Mom's house and Meghan's collectibles. I will increase my efforts to get them placed with buyers/takers by using multiple platforms.

    2. Keep my house clean (I do a good job with this).

    3. Watch the TV show Dead End: Paranormal Park and finish watching the anime Secrets of the Silent Witch.

    4. Plant some herbs and take care of them.

    5. Wear pajamas. I'm prone to going to bed in my day clothes and it seems like a shame since a) I own some great pajamas and b) they're more comfortable. I resolve to wear pajamas to bed in 2026.

    6. Use a new coffee cup every day. I'm prone to reusing the same coffee cup for a long time (alternating between coffee and water) and it's always so nice when I change to a new cup, so I think I should incorporate this simple pleasure into my daily life even though it will involve more hand-washing of coffee cups.

    7. Do something cool with my hair. Yep, I'm thinking of a drastic change that involves pink hair dye. Stay tuned.
I THINK THAT IS ENOUGH ABOUT RESOLUTIONS. DON'T YOU? ON TO THE REST OF THE SURVEY.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

No one close to me, but Jeaux's family has another new baby: little Elena. Cute!

4. Did anyone close to you die?

I'm heartbroken to say we lost Pirate Mike this year--I don't have the specific details, but it must have been complications from liver disease. He was a treasure at my Halloween parties, an awesome ace friend, and a connector of people. Everyone knew him. I couldn't believe he was in my living room in October and he was gone just a month later. He leaves a void in this world.

My sister's family also encountered tragedy. Her close family friend Chuck passed away from a sneaky cancer he'd been fighting a long time. Things were looking so good for a while and then it just wasn't. I never got to meet Chuck but my sister spoke so highly of him and his family, and when I was in San Francisco I did briefly get to meet his wife and child (who are also friends with my sister's family). And of course, poor Yoshi. In December of this year my sister's family (the same sister!) lost their first and only family dog. Yoshi had lifelong digestive issues that were undiagnosed and they tried everything to make him more comfortable. When nothing worked they followed recommendations to do more diagnostic procedures and he had a complication coming out of his sedation, unexpectedly passing away during the routine procedure. He will be missed so much.

5. What countries did you visit?

I did not leave the USA this year.

6. What would you like to have in 2026 that you lacked in 2025?

  • More diligence, organization, and success on my projects.
  • Less stress about politics (I am not going to receive this).
  • Quieter neighbors. (I am also not going to receive this.)
  • A chance to book a real professional voice acting role.
  • An answer to some health issues (with my ear and my foot).
  • Short story sales.
  • As always, a book deal.

7. What dates from 2025 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

  • April 23: Finished writing the first draft of my novel In Bloom.
  • May 8 - May 14: Visited my sister Patricia in San Francisco.
  • July 25 & 26: Attended Metrocon.
  • August 7 - August 17: Vacationed with family in Ledo Key.

  • September 17: Went to a Night Vale show with Jeaux.

  • September 25: Went to a Weird Al concert with Jeaux, Meg, and Adam.

  • September 26: Received a new offer to publish my short story "Aquarius."
  • September 28: First band practice with a new band.
  • October 20: Interviewed for Ace Week on I Don't Know If This Counts: Asexuality 201.
  • October 25: Threw a Halloween party.
  • October 30: Interviewed for October Aces on I Don't Know If This Counts: Asexuality 201.
  • November 30: Found out Michael passed away.
  • December 27: Had family and friends over for holiday lunch and cookies.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Unexpectedly getting into voice acting! Getting 10 new roles is not too shabby, even though they're for amateur projects.

9. What was your biggest failure?

I'm pretty disappointed that I didn't find new representation for my work this year even though I was pretty diligent about trying.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

I had zero illnesses! I have a frustrating issue with pain in my foot that has not been diagnosed despite examination and X-rays, and I've been referred to physical therapy for it but I do not know if that is appropriate. And I have had a problem with a weird noise in my ear (which might be connected to a tight muscle in my shoulder?) that has been intermittent, but has as of now not recurred for a while. I have an appointment in the new year to get it looked at by a specialist.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

For items: Steven Universe glittery sneakers!! And a wind screen for my mic--man that's making voice acting so much better!

For experiences: Metrocon tickets, tickets to San Francisco, Weird Al tickets, Night Vale tickets.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

  • Civil liberty fighters and queer rights activists.
  • So proud of Meggie for selling her house, Katelyn for moving out to her first place, and Benny for starting college.
  • So excited for Jeaux going back to school and acing his classes.
  • Ronni for enduring and emerging.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

The usual list:
  • Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, Elon Musk, J.D. Vance, and their supporters.
  • Warmongers, torturers, and kidnappers participating in these terrible wars.
  • Bigots who keep trying to demonize immigrants and make truth-telling media the enemy of the people.
  • People who spread lies and conspiracy theories (many of which have their roots in racism, sexism, queerphobia, and antisemitism).
  • All the bastards who have been feeding the fire on "trans women are men who want access to single-sex spaces to do harm to REAL women" and "LGBTQ+ people are groomers."
  • Fake friends.
  • Selfish neighbors.
  • Those annoying-ass author scammers who keep sending AI-generated "offers" pretending to be interested in featuring or promoting authors' books when they are actually just full of shit.
  • People who use tragedy to capitalize.
  • Every single fatphobe.
  • People who blamed oppressed people for their own oppression.
  • Gaslighting bastards who hurt my people.
  • People who expect me and others to clean up the messes they made.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Steven Universe merch, flying to California, everyday expenses (including groceries, damn!), and helping people.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

  • Lars of the Stars, the Steven Universe spinoff, being announced.
  • Every time I got cast in a new show for voice acting.

  • My backyard pineapple.

  • Getting better at some belting techniques that used to elude me.
  • Metrocon, and attending in my Cotton Candy Garnet cosplay with my ukulele.

  • Halloween.
  • Birds.
  • DDR pad upgrade.
  • Kari moving to town.
  • Receiving the Japanese-exclusive Steven Universe merch from my sister.
  • EPIC the musical.
  • Jeaux's success going back to college.
  • The Weird Al concert.
  • Building a new voice acting site.

16. What song will always remind you of 2025?

"Golden" from KPop Demon Hunters.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

  • i. happier or sadder? I will have to say sadder.
  • ii. thinner or fatter? Fatter, woohoooo.
  • iii. richer or poorer? Definitely poorer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

Documenting the things I want to document and sharing them how I want to share them.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

Watching shitty reels or reading shitty stories that aren't really entertaining or high quality.

20. How did you spend Christmas?

On Christmas Day I was cleaning my office room and listening to silly Christmas carols sung by my friend, then making cookies, doing some exercise, and submitting queries and stories online. It was a busy but nice day spent alone. I had family and friends over for our holiday dinner a couple days later.

21. How will you be spending New Year's Eve?

Jeaux and I will hang out. Maybe we'll watch TV, eat dumb stuff, and see if we can catch fireworks in the neighborhood.

22. Did you fall in love in 2025?

This is not a thing.

23. How many one-night stands?

I should probably just delete this question from the survey. But then I'd have to re-number and ew.

24. What was your favorite TV program?

Steven Universe is still my undisputed favorite, but this year I saw the following new seasons or new series: The Elephant special, Murderbot, Knights of Guinevere pilot, Fionna & Cake Season 2, and Secrets of the Silent Witch. Weirdly, I also saw my very first episode of Seinfeld at Jeaux's insistence, and did not care for it. My favorite of these was probably Fionna & Cake.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

Yeah man. These dudes really need to stop messing with my girls.

26. What was the best book you read this year?

I Wish You All the Best by Mason Deaver. I didn't have much to pick from because I only read six books this year, but that was the only one I gave 5 stars, so it wins. Technically, off the record I read the contributed stories for the Being Aro anthology that will come out next year (for which I wrote the introduction).

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

EPIC the Musical for SURE. However, it was kind of a big year for me when it comes to music, and that's unusual! I really loved the soundtrack to KPop Demon Hunters (I linked "Golden" above, but "Your Idol" is also PHENOMENAL). Rebecca Sugar released her second personal album, Lonely Magic, which I bought on vinyl and in digital. And both Suzanne Vega and Dar Williams released new music, which I bought and listened to! Suzanne's new album Flying With Angels was released on May 2 and Dar's new album Hummingbird Highway was released on September 12. They're both great!

28. What did you want and get?

Voice acting roles, a short story sale, a Covid-free year, Steven Universe spinoff news, a lot of quality time with friends and family, good coffee, good health, a happy home, love and humor, good entertainment.

29. What did you want and not get?

Another literary agent and a book deal, a resolution for my job situation, answers for my weird health questions.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?

The only films I saw were Wicked: For Good, KPop Demon Hunters, the new Superman, Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2, and if The Elephant counts (I don't know if it's a TV show or a movie). I can't lie: the one that had the most impact on me was KPop Demon Hunters even though I was really excited for Wicked also. I had never seen the Pitch Perfect movies and Jeaux showed them to me. They were such fun. And I LOOOOVED The Elephant.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I turned 47. I got up early and played DDR in the morning after coffee! Got dressed for the day and did some reports at work. Meg rolled in to visit me in the afternoon and we chilled together, then went out to eat at Carrabba's with my dad and Connie for my birthday. When we got back I finished my reports for the office, took an unsatisfying nap, and hung out with Meghan for the rest of the evening. We had cake together (baked by Jeaux).

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Fewer petty arguments, fewer people making promises they can't keep, fewer frigging creepy dudes creepin', and obviously, like, a book deal. Yes, I realize the question asked me for "one thing," but I do what I want.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2025?

On hot days, the tank tops and jeans got me through. On cold days, I love my cozy sweaters and my wearable blankets. I own over 130 Steven Universe shirts and they got a lot of use.

34. What kept you sane?

Video chats with friends and sister, medical advice from Meg and Kari, music that hyped me up when I needed it and calmed me down when I needed it, coffee, dependable documentation, hopeful and determined leftist political commentary, and important art that reminds us why we persist.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Oh, you silly survey.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

Trans rights, mistreatment of immigrants, and all the frigging liars in government.

37. Who did you miss?

I missed my mom more than I thought I would. More than last year.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
