Personal Digest Saturday: November 19 – November 25

Life news this week:

  • Saturday was pretty relaxing, though I did pop in at work to finish up a task for my boss. Other than that I just did my blogging and talked to sister and BFF. And I read another chapter of Jeremy's book.

  • Sunday I spent the day doing laundry and trash chores, recording karaoke, and talking to Meg. Did another chapter for Jeremy. Wrapped some presents for my sister's family and cleaned up around the house. Took some collection photos. Joined Hive because all the cool kids are doing it (you can follow me there @juliesondra). Decided to give one of my books chapter names and started rereading it while naming the chapters as I went along.

  • Monday had a lot of scrambling over utility stuff on one of my projects and we also found out some good news: we got shortlisted on a project, got shortlisted as a teaming partner on another, and got selected as a subconsultant on another project. Day of good news! I worked on my chapter titles more, played games with my friends, and edited for Jeremy.

  • Tuesday I had to set up teams for upcoming projects and edit one of our letters. Plus more utility updates. Sent Polo messages, took a nap, got up and made a pumpkin pie, and then used my leftover evaporated milk to make pancakes for dinner. Read another chapter for Jeremy, worked on my book, and wrapped more presents for my sister's family. Installed my cool new rainbow keyboard.

  • Wednesday I got ahead by reading over a letter due next week and worked on a bunch of transcript questions for an upcoming shortlisted team interview. Also walked to the post office and sent holiday gifts to my sister's family. Cleaned up my kitchen and made a meal plan for Thanksgiving. Talked to my sister about food and cartoons. Put a couple more photos in my gallery of people who have passed away (and cut myself on the glass of one of the photo frames). We didn't have Jeaux Day because Thanksgiving is replacement Jeaux Day, so I had the evening free to work on Jeremy's book and my book.

  • Thursday I had a small breakfast and coffee before Jeaux came over and we started making food. We put the Tofurky roast and the vegan scalloped potatoes in first, and then we did green bean casserole and mashed potatoes. We both made our own favorite gravy separately. By the time Mom got to my house, we were baking the bread rolls and warming up the corn. Mom brought ham and turkey. We had a lovely meal and Mom passed out shortly afterwards because the food overwhelmed her. Jeaux and I watched Colbert and when Mom got up we had pie. After she left, Jeaux and I took a walk. After he left, I did Polos for Meg and sister and read another Jeremy chapter.

  • Friday I had Thanksgiving leftovers for every meal. Worked on my webcomic and didn't do much but relax. Mom came over in the evening to get the leftover turkey and ham, and we watched some videos and hung out. After she left I got my comic up, got my steps in, and did an edit for Jeremy. Almost done with the book.

Health Plan Update:

  • Weight stuff: Weirdly, despite a holiday about eating happening in the middle of the week, I had a slightly better scale situation this week. Part of the reason though was that I kept very busy and didn't do a lot of snacking when I wasn't hungry. High weight: 119.5 Low weight: 117.7.
  • Nutrition stuff: So yes there have been cheesy potatoes this week. And yet? The only issue I'm really hitting is not quite enough protein this week, just slightly higher fat. Still consistently taking the vitamins.
  • Activity stuff: I met my walking goal every day this week. My low day was Monday at 10,114 steps, and my high day was Thursday at 14,284 steps.

  • Finished Reading: Nothing this week.

Personal Digest Saturday: November 12 – November 18

    Life news this week:

    • Saturday was a nice slow day where I could relax. I spent some time on Twitter engaging with people in a trash thread or two and then took a nap. Did my blogging and got some singing practice and walking in. Edited another chapter for my friend Jeremy (trying to do one a day until I finish his book). Found out the Democrats are keeping the Senate, whee. Did some more work on the photos page.

    • Sunday the neighbors' outdoor improvements woke me up. Lots of chainsaws. Spent the day with editing for Jeremy, photo blog work, cleaning while listening to Meggie's Polos about her weekend, did my laundry and trash chores, recorded a karaoke song, made a post about being a nerd, and practiced music.

    • Monday I just had one letter to deal with and some selection results to process. Started early work on Negative One because of Friday evening plans. Chose holiday gifts for my sister's family because I'll have to get them out early due to them traveling internationally for the holidays. Played online games with the full gaming group (seven of us). And did another chapter for Jeremy.

    • Tuesday I had some drama at work over my ticketing system so I had to iron it out. Otherwise uneventful. Put some laundry away, read another chapter for Jeremy, played silly games, and did some Polos. Mom agreed to come to our tiny Thanksgiving. Put together a document for Patricia and Ash for them to read Steven Universe comics without getting spoiled (since they haven't seen the whole show yet). After that I worked on my comic some more.

    • Wednesday I had some utility meetings and the conclusion of the ticketing drama. Worked on reports. Put on more weird eye makeup (this time tried a blue-based look). Went to the game store with Jeaux and had to wait a long time while he bought an Xbox. Then we did most of our Thanksgiving shopping and ate some SoFresh food at my house while watching Colbert. I read Jeaux a series of conversations that made him laugh so hard he had to lie down on the kitchen floor. Read another chapter for Jeremy.

    • Thursday I did more reports and utility stuff. Did some drawings, listened to news, and read another chapter for Jeremy. Talked to Mom on the phone. Went to sleep early for a few hours and then got up and finished the comic drawings.

    • Friday was very busy at work--utility meetings and documents, teaming invitations, reports, timesheets, and a new task from my boss involving a sign inventory. I didn't get out until late. Jeaux came over and we ate pizza and then went to the Ben Brainard show in Wesley Chapel! It was pretty good but the audience was really rude. Went home and finished up my walking by talking to Meggie on Polo. Stayed up too late.

    Health Plan Update:

    • Weight stuff: Had a lot of snackiness this week! So I'm not surprised that I haven't made the progress I want to make here. But it's okay. :) High weight: 120.2. Low weight: 118.3.
    • Nutrition stuff: Spinach banana smoothies most days have helped with the greens! ending up with higher fat content in my diet lately because of pizza and sour cream dip. Still consistently taking the vitamins.
    • Activity stuff: I met my walking goal every day this week. My low day was Tuesday at 10,004 steps, and my high day was Thursday at 16,460 steps.

Personal Digest Saturday: November 5 – November 11

      Life news this week:

      • Saturday was a sleep-in day. I practiced music, did some online stuff, got blogging done, and listened to/made Polo conversations. I seem to have new neighbors! Saw them moving in. In the evening I did a podcast recording with Daria for "Kindergarten Kid" and "Know Your Fusion," the first two episodes of Season 4. Also got some work done on my photos page.

      • Sunday I did laundry, took out trash, and worked on the photos website all day. I finally finished it! (Though I still want to do a bunch of tagging to make it go back farther than 2016 in specific-subject searches, so I'm still working on that.) I managed to break my website once and had to fix it.

      • Monday at work involved utilities, a letter and a package, and timesheets. Separately I worked on photo tagging and got a BAND SAMPLER video put together--if you like my performances and have a YouTube account, I would love you to subscribe to the band's page! (We need 100 to be allowed to choose a custom handle and we're not there yet.) I put away laundry in the evening and cooked myself a dinner omelet to use up some aging mushrooms. Then I played games with my friends online, made a video for my main channel asking for subscribers to join us on the other channel, and tagged some more photos.

      • Tuesday was Election Day, which involved sitting around hoping for the least amount of bad news possible. I worked on the package that was due for our shortlisted project and some utility stuff. Worked on the photos page more, watched The Office and finally finished the last episode, practiced music, looked at some fun makeup videos, and edited the first chapter of my friend Jeremy's book.

      • Wednesday was a bit slow. Dealt with some utility stuff at work. I worked on music practice, Polos, setting up a new clock to replace my broken one, and did some fun party makeup for kicks. Jeaux came over and we ate at Five Guys and caught up on Colbert. After he left I edited a chapter of Jeremy's book again.

      • Thursday right before I signed into my workplace, the power went out due to Hurricane Nicole. I was in an outage that lasted all day. By noon it was clear it wasn't coming back soon so I made arrangements to take my refrigerated and frozen food to Jeaux's house and ended up saving my food and working a half day in the afternoon at his place. We had lunch and dinner together and the power didn't return at my house until about 9 PM. Jeaux took me home but would have been prepared to let me stay overnight if it hadn't come back! Nice guy, that one. I did some Polos and edited Jeremy's book.

      • Friday was back to normal at work--I did utility stuff and upcoming project reports. I spent too much of my evening looking Twitter so I had to cram in my webcomic drawings and my walking to meet my goals, but I did it. Then I edited Jeremy's book and went to bed.

      Health Plan Update:

      • Weight stuff: Had a high right at the beginning of the week and then it went down a bit, but honestly I haven't paid attention to the things I usually pay attention to this week so I'm not surprised to see no real changes here. High weight: 120.2. Low weight: 118.3.
      • Nutrition stuff: I've been keeping up with green veggies in my diet this week but still having a lot of high-fat food and being out of balance. Not great. Still consistently taking the vitamins.
      • Activity stuff: I met my walking goal every day this week. My low day was Monday at 10,052 steps, and my high day was Thursday at 15,221 steps.
      Books Read:

      • Finished Reading: Nothing this week.

Personal Digest Saturday: October 29 – November 4

        Life news this week:

        • Saturday I slept late and ate junk. Filmed a video and watched a bunch of The Office. Completed my blogging and did sketches for my webcomic for writers. Submitted a short story. Practiced music and tried to memorize new lyrics.

        • Sunday Dad picked me up for band practice and we caught up on all the happenings since we last saw each other. We had a good nuts-and-bolts working-stuff-out type of practice, and afterwards we had REALLY good food at Brio (I had gnocchi). After I got home I did laundry and trash, took a nap, watched The Office, colored my drawings, and worked on the next Not-So-Giant Women video (which has new art for season 2).

        • Monday involved two letters to go out (with a third that got dropped part of the way through the day). Also had to wrangle teaming arrangements and edit a report. After work I did some walking and then got dressed up in my Lapis costume (without the blue face paint this time) so I could answer the door for trick-or-treaters in costume. I gave out stickers, candy, and drinks. I played games with my friends and only had two groups of trick-or-treaters sadly. One of the kids recognized my costume though. ;) After games I did more music practice, got my walking done, and recorded a karaoke song.

        • Tuesday I dealt with utility coordination and reports and design tickets. Started working on my photo albums page again. Put away my laundry and practiced music. Wrote a little tiny bit of my in-progress novel but decided I needed to reread it all first. Posted my Not-So-Giant Women episode.

        • Wednesday was mostly spent on a transcript for an upcoming interview, plus some utility stuff. Talked to Tony and cleaned up the house a little. Jeaux took me to Mahoney's Irish Pub--they didn't have much for me to eat and the sauce was too spicy. Afterwards we grocery shopped, caught up on Colbert, watched an episode of The Office where Colbert guest starred, and did our walking.

        • Thursday I did some reports. Worked on my photo albums page, watched The Office, took some naps, and worked on my book a little more. Wrote some podcast outlines and my webcomic storyboard.

        • Friday I spent half the day on utility stuff and the other half on administrative stuff and reports. After work I did some walking, got another episode of Not-So-Giant Women edited (but not posted), and got my webcomic finished, leaving just enough time to get the rest of my steps in. Stayed up working on photo albums again and went to sleep at a ridiculous time.
        New Reviews:

        Health Plan Update:

        • Weight stuff: Well, I've just been eating up my Halloween candy and going on munchie binges in the nighttime hours, so I'm not surprised that the scale has reflected that. High weight: 120.2. Low weight: 118.3.
        • Nutrition stuff: Not doing so well with protein and as usual I'm out of balance with fats vs. carbohydrates. Lately I've just been trying to consume snacks that are STILL in the house and those happen to be a lot of tortilla chips. Still consistently taking the vitamins.
        • Activity stuff: I met my walking goal every day this week. My low day was Friday at 10,066 steps, and my high day was Monday at 10,928 steps.

Letters to an Asexual #96 ("asexuality helps with population control!") is up. This is #96 of a series in which I read correspondence between me and people who have questions, comments, or--more often--misconceptions about asexuality. In this video, I feature a discussion with a man who believes asexuality helps society by cutting down on overpopulation and that it represents rationality and logic when contrasted with people who desire sex.

Not-So-Giant Women Episode 53: Full Disclosure is up. Join Daria and Ivy as they watch and talk about "Full Disclosure" and cover such topics as the intimidating future events bearing down on the Crystal Gems, the ambiance of a wrecked town after the battle, Steven's hero's burden vibe and why he does NOT have to be 90s Batman, Ronaldo's brooding encouragement, the effect of Gem catastrophes on the Beach City residents, Connie's determination to provide support and continue the friendship, the Gems' perspective on isolation from humans, Steven's lasting injury, the threat Peridot poses, and Amethyst's refusal to commit to life as a moat crocodile.
