Personal Digest Saturday (but posted on Sunday!): July 19 – July 25

Life news this week:

  • Saturday was Epic Doin' Stuff Day. I worked on my ukulele design, sorted out stories for the anthology I'm writing the intro for, and then dove into ukulele practice. I did my blogging, sorted some photos for a really long time, recorded some voice over for the Sleepy Hollow drama, and did some editing on In Bloom.

  • Sunday I got distracted talking to weirdos on Discord. Had to do some maintenance on my water system, including using a wet vac to suck some stuff out of my chlorine tank. Worked on that introduction some more. Did the laundry and trash chores, worked on ukulele music, did some voice over auditions, recorded my voice over of the Dracula drama, and sorted a few photos from unknown years. Did some aerobics too.

  • Monday I got up ridiculously early for no reason. Had a meeting at work; attended and took notes. Sent out some reminders and dealt with communication glitches. We got shortlisted in District 3, and I got shortlisted for voice over work again. (It's a narrated novella project with a full character cast.) Outlined a proposal for my boss. Sorted photos. Practiced ukulele. Got my patterns for the ukulele design complete after lots of trial and error. Processed the next chapter edit for my novel. Chatted with Discord people. Wrote my comic (very early; preparing to be busy with the convention). Managed to make it through the day thanks to a couple short naps.

  • Tuesday I had computer trouble but eventually got back into my machine. That was rough. I drew my comic, practiced ukulele, did some laundry, and sorted photos for way too long. Still not done, though. Edited another chapter of my book. Practiced some random songs. Updated and printed my song list. Received some cool vinyl records and took some photos for my collection.

  • Wednesday I had more computer trouble and needed help to get back into my work computer. Frustrating. I did the rest of the photo sorting that I had on my plate. Now I just have a few more things to finalize before I can start putting them into albums and getting to the part where I digitally sort them. I practiced my ukulele until Jeaux arrived. We went to Mandola's for dinner and then stopped by Michaels for Jeaux to search for costume stuff. They didn't have what he needed but I of course bought stuff because I can't enter Michaels without buying stuff. After shopping, we just chilled and chatted. I sent a query out after he left.

  • Thursday my computer REALLY wouldn't let me log in and the IT people decided it was dead or something so I had to start using a different computer. Which is very frustrating. But I made do. I went to a training at work. Later I did my exercise on the DDR pad and submitted a short story. I processed Negative One and recorded a karaoke song. Then I went to Game Night with my friends and put together my stuff for Metrocon: I planned my outfit and packed my bag for Friday, and tried on my costume and worked out details for Saturday as well as packing a separate bag. I did practice ukulele a little bit, and after I waited past midnight until it was technically Friday, I posted my comic so I wouldn't have to worry about it.

  • Friday I just had to do reports and arrange meetings and do timesheets. Then I left work early to go to the convention. I took a rideshare to the convention center, wearing a fun Steven Universe–themed outfit (but not a costume). I had on a Cookie Cat dress and Cookie Cat pigtail combs, and my stretch pants, socks, shoes, bag, and jewelry was all themed after the show. I brought my ukulele and a song sheet. And then I just walked around and chatted with people and took fun pictures. I went to a tips and tricks audition panel about voice acting, which was sort of a study session for the open auditions the company had posted they were holding on Saturday to audition for a real part in a show. Woo! After I got tired, I got a rideshare home and my Lyft driver was excited by my ukulele and asked me to play a song, so I did. She ended up turning on a karaoke playlist and we sang some songs together for our drive home, and she said it was therapeutic. How fun! When I got home I processed some photos and switched some essentials over to my bag for the next day, and went to bed relatively early.

Health Plan Update:

  • Weight stuff: Lower numbers all week versus last week. Probably just being busy and more active than usual has done this. High weight was 114.6. Low weight was 114.0. Would really like to crack into the next pound down next week but who knows if I will.

  • Nutrition stuff: Low protein sometimes this week--I wasn't watching the balance much to be honest. Just very busy and eating when I could, and ate a meal at the convention as well as one restaurant meal. I am still regularly taking vitamins.

  • Activity stuff: I'm continuing to play my dance game or do aerobics every other day. I met my walking goal every day this week. My low day was Monday at 10,213 steps, and my high day was Friday at 17,902 steps.
