We're all really on the same side here: We write stories, and we want to share them. Whenever those things happen to me I get mad or upset at myself or my work (a bit irrationally at times) but never at the person who gave me a critique. It just seems...weird.

But anyways. Woah, so much work. I hope you have fun though! I think rejection does teach people how to improve, and I think it also weeds out the people who want all of the good and none of the bad, but it can be SO painful to deal with. And then when you get signed, you get to turn right around and deal with rejection from PUBLISHERS! Oh boy is that fun! You know?

I made a comic about it:
WallpaperJulie Sondra Deckerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15755582329896793392noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8793202434796167753.post-180124955526277642013-12-04T18:47:34.225-05:002013-12-04T18:47:34.225-05:00It's disappointing that people get mad at you ...It's disappointing that people get mad at you for your feedback. Why submit to something like this if you don't want feedback? If they think it's perfect, they should just send it off to agents.

The really disappointing thing about that is that it discourages people from giving feedback. I've lost track of how many agents blogs say they don't give feedback because they've been attacked in the past when they do. I've racked up plenty of rejections on another project and I never got mad. Sad, perhaps, but never responded back to an agent negatively! Good luck reading!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
